ABC Jersey is proud to welcome Gary Bellot as our new Chair, as we look ahead to the next chapter of our work supporting Islanders affected by breast cancer.
Now celebrating more than 25 years of service, ABC Jersey has grown into a cornerstone of the Island’s support network. Over the years, the charity has funded vital emotional, financial and practical assistance for patients and their families, delivered education and awareness programmes in schools and workplaces, and raised significant funds thanks to the incredible commitment of volunteers, fundraisers, partners and supporters across Jersey.
As we reflect on this legacy, we are equally excited about the future – and proud to appoint a Chair whose experience, values and leadership will help guide the charity forward.
A Chair with Deep Leadership and Governance Experience
Gary brings with him over four decades of senior leadership and governance experience, having worked at the highest levels within the family office, trust, investment and funds sectors. Throughout his career, he has been entrusted with complex governance responsibilities, long-term strategic oversight and the careful stewardship of organisations operating across multiple jurisdictions.
His professional background brings valuable perspective to the challenges and opportunities facing modern charities – from sustainability and funding, to governance, accountability and long-term planning.
Alongside his professional career, Gary has a long-standing commitment to the charitable sector. He previously served as Chair of the Stroke Association Jersey and was a founding Director of Jersey Stroke Support, where he played a key role in strengthening governance, fundraising capability and organisational resilience. This experience strongly aligns with ABC Jersey’s ambitions as it continues to evolve and grow.

Looking Ahead with Purpose and Confidence
Speaking about his appointment, Gary said:
“ABC Jersey has an extraordinary legacy and a powerful role within our community. I’m honoured to take on the role of Chair and to work alongside such a committed group of govenors, volunteers and supporters. My focus is on building on what already exists – ensuring clarity, resilience and sustainable growth, so the charity can continue to support people when they need it most.”
As Chair, Gary will work closely with the Board and wider ABC Jersey community to focus on:
- Strengthening and evolving patient support
- Developing sustainable fundraising models through trusts, foundations and partnerships
- Ensuring strong governance, clarity of roles and effective decision-making
- Raising the charity’s profile through consistent, meaningful communication
- Ensuring the charity has the skills, structure and financial planning needed for the future
This next phase is about focus, momentum and direction, not rapid or disruptive change – building on strong foundations while ensuring ABC Jersey remains resilient, responsive and impactful for years to come. ABC Jersey Ambassador Sarah Burns also welcomed the appointment, highlighting the positive impact strong leadership can have on the charity’s ability to support Islanders affected by breast cancer.
“I’m absolutely delighted to welcome Gary as Chair of ABC Jersey. Having worked closely with the charity and seen first-hand the difference it makes to Islanders affected by breast cancer, I know how important strong leadership and clear direction are. Gary brings a depth of experience that will help strengthen the charity and ensure we can continue – and grow – the support we offer to our community. This is such a positive step for ABC Jersey, and I’m really excited about what the future holds.”
Thank You to Our Community
ABC Jersey would like to thank its supporters, volunteers, fundraisers and partners whose continued commitment makes its work possible. Everything the charity has achieved – and everything still to come – is driven by this extraordinary community.
We look forward to the next chapter together.
